Arbitron’s Format Trends Report (Spring Book) showed that Spanish is the biggest gain Spring 2005-Spring 2006, persons 12+, going from a 9.8 share to an 11.1. News/talk format keeps on getting bigger too. The top five formats are: News/talk (17.3). AC (12.9, down from a 13.4). CHR (11.3). Spanish (11.1) and urban (10.1). In this past year, GLR Networks reached 18 of the top 20 Hispanic markets with 95 stations, and close to 64% of the market reach by launching such programs as Futbol Mexicano, De Paisano a Paisano, Pasion W, A Calzón Quitao and GLR News. Advertising - Luis Gutierrez

Luis Gutierrez has joined GLR Networks as Director of Ad Sales. He will oversee business development, sales strategy, sponsorships and advertising sales for GLR's domestic and pan-regional sales efforts.

 

Affiliation – Jimmy Perez

Perez is the new Director of Affiliate Sales and will syndicate the network’s programming to U.S. Hispanic radio stations. Perez brings over 14 years experience in the radio industry

 


Programming – Alejandro Nieto

Nieto has been key in GLR’s growth in this first year. In addition to News (51% of the market reach) and Sports (54%), GLR Networks has also experienced success with Entertainment programming such as Latitud 40 Latina with almost 40% market coverage.

• WSUA 1260 AM - Radio Caracol, was again the most listened to AM radio station in Spanish in the Miami-FT Lauderdales DMA, ages 25-54, according to Arbitron’s book for Spring 2006.

 

• WSUA 1260 AM - Radio Caracol is the official Hispanic radio station for the Miami Dolphins for the third consecutive season.
