Hispanic
radio listeners are especially receptive to advertising Hispanics have a higher interest in radio
advertisements over other media outlets according to the recent findings from
Radio Ad Effectiveness Lab (RAEL) Personal Relevance Two: Radio's
Receptive Ad Environment from the Radio Advertising Bureau. Other findings
include: ·
Radio's receptive ad environment is
especially strong among Hispanics/Latinos (especially Spanish-Dominant
Hispanics). Ethnic populations also showed some additional, unique emotional
connections with their stations, indicating strong lifestyle bonds with
formats targeting those populations. ·
Hispanics were more likely than Whites to
use radio to have a good time, while it nearly matched African Americans
(42%) with use of radio to help overcome hardships. ·
In terms of advertising-related responses,
Spanish Dominant respondents were more likely to feel that the ads reached
them personally (40%) and were fun (32%) and honest (33%) while Hispanic
respondents in general and Whites were much lower on
all the factors. Black respondents were highest in thinking that ads
reached the intended people (44%, followed by Spanish Dominant with 37%) and
