ALL ABOUT…

CITA CON EL DOCTOR

First Ever Latino President of the American Cancer Society

Dr. Elmer Huerta joins GLR Networks

To host the 1 hour health topic show Cita con el Doctor

Recently named President of the American Cancer Society Dr. Elmer Huerta - first-ever Latino physician that takes the rein of the prestigious organization in its 94 year history – joined GLR Networks to host Cita con el Doctor, a health-topic show that looks to answer our listeners’ questions and health concerns, all them while helping our community. The program places an emphasis on the prevention and early detection of illnesses that primarily affect the Latino community.

Dr. Huerta is founder and director of the Cancer Preventorium at the Cancer Institute at the Washington Hospital Center . His clinic is one of only few centers in the nation dedicated exclusively to cancer prevention and control. For the past two decades, Dr. Huerta has been committed to improving the quality of life for Latinos. His Spanish-language radio and TV programs are nationally and internationally syndicated, and he is regarded as a trusted source of medical information to the Latino community in the United States and Latin America .

Cita con el Doctor gives listeners the opportunity to ask the doctor all their questions related to health and wellness by calling 1800 526 9026 or sending an email to doctor@glrnetworks.com. Dr. Huerta answers all these questions and finds a way for listeners to learn how to prevent the most common health conditions that affect Latinos in the U.S. and Latin America . This would include cancer, heart disease, diabetes, HIV AIDS, and tuberculosis. The final goal of his show is to improve the listeners’ general well being and quality of life.

This is a show that GLR offers through its affiliated stations network to help Hispanic families, showing our commitment to the Hispanic Community in the US . The one hour show airs live Monday through Friday, 2 pm - 3pm PST / 5 pm – 6 pm EST.
