WELCOME

Dear Friends,

The first quarter in 2008 has been very exciting for us: we acquired exclusive five-year radio broadcast rights to top Mexican soccer team Chivas de Guadalajara’s home games for the United States and Canada!! This acquisition reinforces GLR Networks’ coverage of Mexican 1st Division Soccer games and makes our sports programming the best option for Spanish language radio stations in the US. We have also just launched a new CHR /Pop countdown show, 40 Principales, after proven success in our stations in Latin America and Spain.

GREAT NEWS FOR OUR INDUSTRY

·                     The top ten Inside Radio formats at year-end: Spanish overtakes oldies. Country is still #1 with 2,049 commercial stations. But news/talk continues to close the gap. It now has 1,365 outlets. The biggest change is at #3 where the long-expected move of Spanish overtaking oldies finally happens. There are now 794 Spanish stations and 703 oldies outlets.

·                     Hispanic radio to do at least twice as good as the rest of the industry. SNL Kagan projects Spanish-language radio revenue to increase 6% this year to $1.21 billion, outpacing the overall industry’s expected 2% - 3% growth.

·                     U.S. Population Projections: 2005-2050: If current trends continue, the population of the United States will rise to 438 million in 2050, from 296 million in 2005, and 82% of the increase will be due to immigrants arriving from 2005 to 2050 and their U.S.-born descendants, according to new projections developed by the Pew Research Center. The Latino population, already the nation's largest minority group, will triple in size and will account for most of the nation's population growth from 2005 through 2050. Hispanics will make up 29% of the U.S. population in 2050, compared with 14% in 2005.
